Happy Memorial Day
Today was Memorial Day, and I want to thank my father, uncle, pawpaw (who has already gone to be with the Lord), and all the others who have, and still are, serving for our country! This morning me mom dad, and Blake drove to Huntsville, and dropped Blake off at the airport. He had to travel to Orlando for some meetings with his job. He looked so cute with his little luggage, today! lol I wish I could have went with him because I am in need of a vacation, but sadly I begin my four week class for June tomorrow.
Last week finished up my Maymester class which was a blessing because a girl can only handle so much information about American Indians! Friday Blake, and I joined our friends Chase, and Ashley for her birthday dinner at Fuji Japanese Grill in Oxford. I could kick myself for not taking any photos! I even carried my camera in with intentions to take some pictures. We had fun, but did not have a very good cook. The one we had cook in front of us was okay, but we realized he didn't have as many tricks up his sleeve as the others when the one beside us caught his hand on fire (on purpose), and threw fire rings onto his hat! We still had great food, and enjoyed eating with Chase, and Ashley. Saturday was "Return to Sardis City" day, and despite the weather the crowd was decent. Blake, and I ran the 5k together, and we both finished I am proud to say even though he smoked me! He finished around 20 something minutes, and I finished at 34 something minutes. My cousin Doug who I sometimes refer to as "uncle Doug" is running for Etowah County Board of Education in November, and he was there campaigning so I wore my Vote Doug Sherrod shirt around and helped campaign! Then the rain decided to ruin the event, and all of the vendors, and events closed around 3:00. I really hope they decided to do the event again next year minus the rain!
Almost at the finish line!

I mentioned in the previous post that I had started a May-mester class as soon as Spring semester finished up, and I'm beginning to wonder if that was such a great idea! My minor is History, so I try to choose classes that I think will be interesting, and thought this class entitled North American Indian's would be pretty cool, but I was mistaken. I have to keep myself awake, and try to take notes! Since it is a May-mester we are learning the whole curriculum in four weeks instead of three months like in a normal semester, and it's four days a week for 2 1/2 hours ahh, but I only have 13 days left, and then I begin two June classes. I really dislike not having my Summers off, but if I plan to finish up next Spring I have to. Here is a little drawing I did (the cover of my book) during class one day,at least I'm drawing something relevant to the class so that makes it okay right?

If you are a Communication major you have to do two media workshops before you can do your internship. Basically that means you must work two semesters for either the radio, television, or newspaper at JSU. For my schedule it was easier for me to work for the radio. I worked Spring semester for them, and now Summer, so as soon as I finish Summer I will have completed my required media workshops, and will be able to do my internship at a new station in the Spring, since my Fall schedule will be full. I work on rotation as a d.j. at the radio on Thursdays from 2-4. I am majoring in television, and you would think it would be easier to speak into the microphone on the radio with no cameras around, but I thought wrong. I get sooo nervous on the radio, and am very glad I'm going into television ha! You can listen to our campus radio station any time at: http://wljs919fm.ning.com/ So check us out sometime!

"Catching Up"
I realize it has been January since I have written an entry, so it's time to update! Much has gone on within the last few months: Spring Break, , New dog, A-Day, Spring semester classes are over, and Summer classes have begun. That sums up most of it!
Spring Break which was in March, Nikki, Breonna,my aunt and I went to Panama City. It was fun, but cold!
Eating at Margaritaville

I finally got a new dog! If you know me you know I love dogs! His name is Bear, and he is close to a year old. He is the sweetest thing, and loves any attention you give him!

Blake, Nikki, and I attended this years Annual A-Day game at Alabama this year, it was beautiful weather. I cannot wait until football season begins!

Lately...
Here are some random photos that I have had on my camera, and thought I would post a few!

Julio(Blake's moms dog) will start us off! He was actually still enough for me to capture this photo of him!
Our church started a church volleyball league last week, and here are some photos from last weeks game, mine and Blake's friends Tyler and Danielle were playing this particular night. My class plays Thursday night, and trust me there will be a post about that, because bless my heart when Jesus was giving the gift of athleticism he skipped me!
I thought this was cute of Ty and Danielle! Don't they look like they are just having the best time! lol
This would be one of Tyler and Danielle's children their youngest Kate! She is the cutest thing! I could just kiss those little chubby cheeks all day! I thought I also took a pic of Kohl their oldest that night, but I must not have. He is also a doll!
My cousin Breonna, and I have started working out on her Wii she got for Christmas to the game Your Shape by Jenny McCarthy. It is so fun! You have a camera that puts you on the screen, then you follow the instructor on the t.v. as she does the exercises. While Breonna, and I work out this is what Blake and Maggie (Breonna's dog) did!
Mmmm...
The other day I was looking around on Facebook and came across this Restaurant's fan page called The Rock House Eatery. It had some great feedback, looked like a cute little place to try, and the food looked yummy! After Blake came home for the weekend this past Friday he and I decided to try it for dinner. They serve sandwiches during the week for lunch, and that's what we were expecting, but after we arrived I felt a little under dressed because at night they serve dinner foods no sandwiches, but oh well we will know next time to be a little more "spiffy" ha! Onto the food now, we ordered and they brought us out some bread with some roasted garlic butter. I could have eaten the butter by the spoonfuls it was delish! I am also ashamed to say that of the four pieces of breads we were brought I ate all four! What can I say I'm a carb girl all the way! The bread and butter were great, but our food was really good! Blake ordered a rib eye with sauteed spinach and sweet potato slices, and I ordered the pecan crusted chicken breast with sauteed spinach and baby carrots. My chicken was great, but Blake's steak was pretty amazing(he graciously shared a bite with me)! I did not take any pictures inside, because I frankly didn't want people to think I was crazy although I did take some outside which are the last two posted below. The pics of the food and inside below are their photos from their fan page on Facebook not ones I took. I have to go back for lunch one day so I can try one of their delicious sandwiches, can't forget the homemade fries!

Blake and I did not get a salad, but the couple beside us did and on top of it being gigantic it also looked really good.
Goat Salad with Chicken

And.... these would be my two measly little photos I took that night! lol
The only criticism I have is that the dove on their sign with the green leaf in its mouth looks like the hospice symbol for Marshall County...

Friday night Chase, Ashley, and I rode together and met Blake at Bridgestreet for dinner and a movie. I haven't mentioned on here that Blake is now living in Madison with his brother and working in Huntsville for the Arsenal. He comes home on Fridays and stays through Sunday, so I always look forward to the weekends because I know that means I get to see his little face! Anyway back to the story... this past summer we all four went to Bridgestreet and tried P.F. Chang's so we decided to go back and try a different place. We hope to try and eat at a new place at Bridgestreet periodically until we have eaten at every place there. This visit we met Blake at this new restaurant that had recently opened called The Smokehouse.
It is a more upscale BBQ restaurant. We each got something different and all enjoyed our food. Chase got the ribs, and I have always heard people say "ribs fall off the bone" well his literally did! After our meal we shopped at some of the stores until our movie began. After shopping around for a while we decided on some ice cream from The Orange Tree. It is what I call "healthy ice cream" meaning it doesn't have much flavor and isn't really that good, but it was still ice cream so we satisfied our sweet tooth!
After our ice cream rendezvous it was time for our movie. Monaco Pictures is the movie theatre at Bridegestreet and is supposedly one of the nicest in the Southeast. Something we liked about it was that when you purchase your tickets from one of the machines before hand you it shows a diagram of the theatre seating, and you choose what seat you want.
I like that because, you don't have to arrive really early to get great seats. We saw Avatar in 3-D, and I was thinking 3-D oh how neat, but after two hours I was looking at my watch saying when is this gonna be over? I'm not a big fan of Sci-fi type movies anyway, I'm more for the comedies and love stories. We had a great time, and can't wait until we can go back again!

New Years and Birthday celebration
Blake and I hung out and celebrated the New Year with some of our friends on New Years Eve, then we went out to eat with some friends to Red Lobster for my birthday! I turned 23 on Dec 30th and I have not been very excited about it. I just feel like after you pass 21 it's all down hill from there it just means your aging, so I am going to officially be 23 the rest of my life or at least that's what I'll pretend! lol Ashley, Meredith, Nikki, Anna and Danielle all surprised me with gifts. I in no way intended for them to get me presents, but they did. It was very thoughtful of them and I really appreciated it! I have come to conclusion that I have some pretty amazing friends! Now I'm just going to leave you with pictures!

Cupcakes and Painting=Anna's Birthday Celebration!
Last night was Anna's birthday celebration! Me, Blake, Nikki, Justin, Danielle, and Tyler decorated and waited for Anna and Noah to arrive. I baked her some birthday cupcakes with pink icing and sprinkles! We had a crown, birthday card and beads waiting for her. After she blew out her 23 candles we girls started painting. We all were doing great until Danielle decided she did not have to patience to sit and finish her picture so she took the black paint and wrote a bible verse! Ha! It actually looked like an abstract painting! The guys would periodically walk by to check our our masterpieces or more like critique them! I thought we all did a great job on them, and I have to say Nikki's artistic skills were much improved from last weeks! Tonight were all eight going to be at the Pumpkin Jam, so check back for pictures from that tomorrow! This Wednesday is Danielle's birthday so next Friday another celebration will take place!
